Watch “The Maquis”. It’s one of the episodes that made me fall in love with the series. There are a lot of flawed people in this show, like reality.

Also, Admiral Necheyev is such a hateful person in almost every Star Trek episode she’s in. I love her.

DS9 got me into Star Trek; less of suspension of disbelief required than TNG or Voyager, even Enterprise

Also his awesome quote, “[...] it’s easy to be a saint in paradise” is representative of DS9 as a series in the Trek setting, which I why I love DS9 the most.

Such a great series. Garak is one of my favorite characters ever. And the bromance between O’Brien and Bashir is superbly played out. And I love how much of a misanthrope Odo pretends to be.

You’re probably aware, but IRL Nana Visitor and Alexander Siddig have a kid together.

I’m guessing that role wasn’t much far off from her as a real person. Which is why she rocks it so well.

Also perfectly cast is Kai Whinn(?). She’s the same actress who played Nurse Ratchet in “Cuckoo’s Nest”. I hate her equally in both roles. Nurse Ratchet is the first fictional character I have ever wish actual harm upon.

I love that little speech so much, it was kinda DS9's mission statement to show the Star Trek universe in a more complicated light that any of the other shows.
